When a Stranger Shouts “You Can Do It!”

November 9th, 2011 by Christopher

or “way to go!”

at the end of my morning run, a car passed by and from the rear window a young girl shouted out “you can do it!”  hearing that made me feel like a million bucks.  it was like she held out a bubble wand of good karma.  then she said it to my running mate a few moments later as she passed by.

how sweet for someone to be that encouraging.  it didn’t cost her anything but gave me so much.

there are so many little uplifting expressions we can share:
“way to go !”
“looking good !”
“nice job !”
“you can do it !”
“good for you !”

small adjustment:  look for an opportunity to provide encouragement to a stranger.  say something positive.  watch their reaction.  how does it feel?

  1. Hi, Christopher.

RIght on! I’ve often had such encounters with strangers.. and do try to pass it on. Don’t like the stony faced expression so standard nowadays.

    Lovely design. I love white!
