Is happiness…

…wanting what you get?

Have you ever asked life to “bring it on” in a good way?

“I’m ready.”
“I’m determined to take what I get and make it something great.”
“Bring me a lesson, a challenge, a good time.”

I’ve only found myself consciously in this mode a few times and the feeling is exhilarating.

Can you believe that the universe is ready to provide you with all you desire? The older I get (chronologically) the more I think that happiness remains a struggle because we’re so focused on getting what we want.

What happens to the greyhound when it catches the rabbit? Now what? Maybe it’s a myth, but it has been said that the dog’s racing career is over because it won’t chase the rabbit again. I suspect that the greyhound might be inspired to chase something else. Sound familiar?

When we get what we want, don’t we line up something right behind it? Doesn’t it seem we invest struggle into the “getting?”

What if we think about what we want but let go of the struggle part, trusting the process of life to take us there?

Even though I believe in a higher power, when I first heard the phrase “let go and let God” I was a bit turned off that it was way too religious. Also, I didn’t see myself participating – which, of course I thought I had to struggle to make things happen. Now I see the spirituality in it.

Are you ready to taunt life into constantly delivering something wonderful? Imagine the feeling of knowing that it will all come to you. How great does that feel? You can have that feeling whenever you want it. It is possible…

small adjustment: So is happiness getting what you want or wanting what you get?
